Thanks for the invite to this forum. Well, I figure I'll just list where I'm at in my career.
USN 90-98 Nuke ET USS Texas and USS Enterprise
San Onofre 98-99
San Onofre 01-05
Farley outage 06
San Onofre outage currently
So, what does the future hold for us. I'm 35 and by far the youngest contractor I've seen. Does everyone figure wages to go up or what.

I'm 39. The youngest I know of is one of our Administrators. John Rush Jr. he is 25. As far as the future, its brighter than you can imagine. Wages are going up, and will continue. In fact once they start building new Nuclear Power Plants, Refineries etc. then its going to get crazy. There is already a shortage of I&C professionals in all industries as we speak right now. This is my view. You call a plumber in to fix a toilet in your house, its costs you what?...75 hr? maybe more. Why doesnt a skilled I&C Tech/Eng etc make 100-150 hr? After all, look at what we do, and our responsiblity, and pressure we are under to make sure no mistakes are made. That plumber screws up, and you have a flooded house. An I&C Tech screws up, and the cost in product, equipment, public health & safety etc. is on a m***ive scale.

Welcome to the forum

That is my thoughs also but then I see most of the plants offering 30/hr for contractors and Volt cut the pay for first timmers contracting into San Onofre which is real BS in my case since I was in house at one time.
